About us

Serving Individuals Impacted by Domestic Violence

Who We Serve

We serve nearly 3,000 victims annually and housed approximately 400-500 individuals within our community. Individuals and families served represent vast ethnic, socio-economic, educational, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds. We are the only shelter for victims of domestic violence within the 10 counties that represent Southeastern Minnesota. The average length of stay is 33 days, however, each situation is unique and may require a longer length of stay.

Other services include transitional housing, satellite offices in Kasson and Preston where our caring and compassionate staff provides individual support for victims in need. Advocates assist with safety planning, housing options, transportation, criminal and civil court, writing Orders for Protection and Harassment Orders, and applying for various assistance. Our advocates are passionate about helping individuals and families in need, and are there with them every step of the way.
